Success Story : Jaswant Singh

Jaswant Singh, a resident of Radavas in the Marwar Junction area of Pali district, has been without his left leg since birth. His passion for cricket has been evident since childhood. He went to Jaipur to practice cricket and learn its nuances. He has also played for the Indian and Rajasthan Divyang cricket teams. His passion and enthusiasm are no less than an inspiration for other players and the differently-abled.

Jaswant has dedicated himself to cricket to such an extent that despite being differently-abled and relying on crutches, he continues to play as an accomplished opening batsman. Everyone is amazed by his artistic play. Playing on the field as an opening batsman with one leg, he hits boundaries and sixes just like any other ordinary player. Jaswant is skilled not only in batting but also in bowling. He throws the ball at a speed of 100 mph with a long run-up despite relying on crutches. He holds the record for hitting the longest six (96 meters) to date. In the Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Third National Physical Disability T20 Cricket Championship held from September 28th to October 8th, he scored an impressive 122 runs off 65 balls.
